definitions

font (serif & sans-serif), notice  the small decorative flourishes at the ends of the strokes in the left character. These are called serif. The right character does not have these strokes and is said to be asans-serif font. (Sans is the French word for without.)




margin - 1) :  a bare minimum below which or an extreme limit beyond which something becomes impossible or is no longer desirable <on the margin of good taste> (2) :  the limit below which economic activity cannot be continued under normal conditions.





bleed - draw blood from (someone), especially as a once-common method of treatment in medicine.





CMYK - hort for Cyan-Magenta-Yellow-Black, and pronounced as separate letters. CMYK is a color model in which all colors are described as a mixture of these four process colors. CMYK is the standard color model used in offset printing for full-color documents. Because such printing uses inks of these four basic colors, it is often called four-colorprinting.



resolution - 1) :  the division of a prosodic element into its component parts (2) :  the substitution in Greek or Latin prosody of two short syllables for a long syllable.





copy proof - identical to what customers will be able to order when your book is made available to the public. It will be perfect bound and the cover will be laminated, and you won't be able to tell the difference between a proof copy and the final book, except for the "Proof" stamp on the last page.




artboard -  represent the regions that can contain printable artwork. You resize and set the orientation for your artwork by choosing settings  artwork by choosing settings in the Artboard Options dialog box. (In Illustrator CS3 and earlier, you use the Document Setup dialog box to change the document size and orientation.)




registration mark-he registered trademark symbol, designated by ® (the circled capital letter R), is a symbol that provides notice that the preceding word or symbol is a trademark or service mark that has been registered with a national trademark office. In some countries it is against the law to use the registered trademark symbol for a mark that is not officially registered in any country.


Layout border - the default layout manager for the content pane of a JFrame, JWindow, JDialog, JInternalFrame, and JApple  












dimensions -defines the visual structure for a user interface, such as the UI for an activity or app widgetLayout.
